You will all be very pleased to know that I am back after a very long time,as I had been recovering from the very successful removal of my gallbladder through keyhole surgery (28th. of October).I am on the mend.
Since I was last on the board,I have been busy buying up some more banknotes & coins for my collection.I have been buying up quite a few of the banknotes from Zimbabwe.
I got a Zimbabwean $5,000,000,000 Agro-Cheque as a belated present for my 32nd. birthday (23rd. of November).

The operation needed to be done,as I was ill in hospital for a week back in May,as I had a severe pancreatitis attack.Although the gallstones were like small stones, they were enough to warrant the gallbladder being removed.
I didn't have much of a celebration of my birthday. Thanks for your belated wishes for my birthday.
I'm hoping that 2009 will be a much better year than 2008 was.Let's hope that my luck will change.

Nice to know all is well.
Perhaps we have so many birthdays so we know that at some point one will be memorable.
Peace,

Happy Belated Birthday Aidan! Glad to have you back!
If you don't mind my asking, how much would a Zimbabwean $5,000,000,000 Agro-Cheque convert into Canadian dollars?

In the old Zimbabwe dollar, $5,000,000,000 is equal to $48,690.68CAD.
The new Zimbabwe currency is valued at 10,000,000,000 old dollars to 1 new dollar, so the value in canadian dollars is $0.00004869068.

The Zimbabwean Dollar isn't even worth the paper it is printed on,as a new $500,000,000 note has now been issued.
The Agro-Cheques & Bearer Cheques are going to be pulled from circulation after the end of the year.

The highest denomination that Zimbabwe has ever had was $100 Trillion, but it was still worth nothing.Since then, another so-called 'currency reform' has been carried out.The Zimbabwean Dollar is still worth US$0.00 though.

The Zimbabwean Dollar is now no longer in circulation,as it has been replaced by Euros,Pounds Sterling,Pula,& Rand.
I'm still busy adding to my collection though.I picked up a Hong Kong $100 note that was issued by the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation in 1981,a Canadian 1858 10c. coin with a hole in it (scarce coin as a spacefiller),a Nova Scotian 1840 1d.,& a Newfoundland 1911 50c. coin (which is quite scarce & extremely underrated) at a coin fair up in Auckland.
A week before,I picked up 2 Canadian $2 notes dated 1986,which were put into circulation later than that,as they bear 2 different signature combinations. These were replaced in 1996 by the bimetallic $2 coin (or 'Twoonie').
