Guests and Members
You don't have to register for the board in order to post. If you don't register, you will have to enter a security code when you post (this is to make sure you're a real person, not an automated spammer).
If you decide to register, you do NOT have to give your real name. In addition, you can edit your profile so that your personal information remains private.
NOTE: Your log-in name can differ from your display name, but BOTH can be seen by other board members, although the display name is most noticeable.
If you register, your posts will indicate that you are a board member (a "Member of the Court"). There are other titles to be earned if you post enough messages!
Quick Reply
When members are reading a thread on this board, they will see a box at the bottom labelled "Quick Reply." You can use this box to reply to the thread. Or you can click the Reply icon (on the bottom right of the last message in the thread), which will give you more posting options, such as smileys, boldface text, and so forth.
Previous and Next buttons
If a message thread has more than one page, look at the top of each page for the "Previous" and "Next" buttons. Those should be at the bottom of each page, too, but they're not. I hope Proboards will eventually correct this oversight.
Polls
There is a discussion area for polls. Feel free to add your own polls, as long as they pertain to history or royalty. You can also reply to a poll with comments. Only members can vote in polls.
Likes
The old Karma system (which allowed you to give points to posts you liked) is gone from the new version of Proboards, but you can "Like" posts instead. Just click the thumbs-up button in the upper right-hand corner of the post you want to praise. Now everyone will see a message stating that you liked that post. If you change your mind, you can click the button again to remove the Like.
Questions?
If you have questions about using this message board, please post them in the board's off-topic discussion area (called "The Palace Garden").
