Personally,I reckon that guests should be banned from posting on the forum,as this can lead to spammers posting their junk.
What do you think? Your views please.
Aidan.

I have sometimes thought of requiring registration (especially when we had that mad spammer a year or so ago), but I like to make it easy for people to participate. I'd be happy to hear everyone else's views.

I don't really see anything wrong with guests posting - unless it's spam.
I'd personally rather see Wikipedia be a completely registered user site.
No comparison of course but I just don't see what the problem is with guests posting here. After all, it's kind of their loss - they don't build up any kind of relationship/reputation by posting as a guest.

I did require registration on the World of Royalty Network. Registration shows commitment, which is important sometimes. (I agree that Wikipedia should probably require registration!)

I do wonder what is the Exalt/Smite thing all about? I got 1 Karma for posting.

You can "exalt" someone to praise or thank them, and that gives them a point of karma. "Smite" takes a point away. But I ask members not to do too much smiting because this board is meant to be fun.
I gave you the karma point -- I try to give everyone a point to thank them for taking the time to join the board. However, you can only give points once each hour, so sometimes it takes me a while to get to everyone!

Cinderella, I see that we've had one scummy spammer from China posting their junk, which is why guests should be banned from posting.

My opinion is to let guest post their messages because before I became a member I posted a message as a guest and I thought this is nice normaly you have to be a member to post stuff. Ps. I signed up cause this is an awsome site.
