Hi, I am new here. I am from the United State, and be it my English-Irish roots, I am fascinated by the royals. And I think the Queen and Prince Philip outstanding!
Now here's my idea. It is based off the American college basketball tournament "march maddness". I have gone through a list, From Victoria to Charles, doing only children of the monarchs. Ranking them and giving points based off Age, Years married, titles, time served a Sovereign and consort, number of children, and bonus points if a child becomes a sovereign or consort.
I have 38 total royals, and have named the said brackets "Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and England. I have ranked them in said brackets by points, and each has a seed, 1-8.
An example of my criteria, Prince Philip was my highest point earner based off his age(91), time served as consort(61), years married(47) title(3 points for consort), (3 for Duke of Edinburgh), 1 point each for three of his children, and 4 points for charles being king.
Now Sovereign's and Consorts get automatic bids, seeds 1-4, four to a seed. Sovereign's are 1 and 3 seeds, and Consorts are 2 and 4 seeds. Charles and William are being considered kings, as well as Diana and Kate as consorts, even though Camilla scored higher, and will be Queen, I went with the popular choice. Diana also has the edge because she produced the "Heir and spare". Camilla is in though.
I had came across this idea as a result of not sleeping, i was staying up for a class i had in the afternoon, and the thought came to me. It's imperfect, but I think it is fun, and I am interested to see what you all think about it. If you are all interested, I will post the bracket tomorrow, and Thursday, will have start the tournament with four play-in games.
The voting will start at 5pm Chicago time on Thursday, and 5pm goes across the board. I will post 5pm London time, as well as my own time zone on my facebook account.
I am here because I figured I would get more interest here. There are some intreuging match ups in the first round, and in a play-in . I will post the match ups as a poll, proceeded by pictures and a short write up for those who don't know the purticular royal.
I hope you all find it fun, and I look forward to your feed back!
