$ Can anyone name all the Royal spouses that had a parent who owned, major control or connection with a bank in their native country at time they became a Royal spouse? Do you think this was a major influence in the marriage match?

I can't think of one at the moment. I think Princess Mathilde of Belgium was from an aristocratic background prior to her marriage.
I'm not sure that family wealth is such a big consideration any longer. At one point title, names, and land were a consideration. But as the years went by this changed mainly because of the lack of options. There aren't very many eligible Prince's and Princesses to choose from these days. The royals looked to the aristocracy for spouses and eventually commoners. Today's royals are not really limited to marrying to make alliances with other families or crowns. They can marry who they choose, provided, in the case of the British, they are not catholic.
Again, with the exception of Princess Mathilde, I think that all of the Crown Princesses were commoners prior to their marriage. If wealth were that much of a consideration, all of those Crown Prince's would probably still be searching.

Marie-Chantal of Greece is the daughter of duty-free Billionaire Robert Miller. His dough definitely helped that match. Chelsy Davy almost... Queen Silvia of Sweden was not quite common as her father is a millionaire industrialist. It is more common than not these days for financial backgroubnds to play a keen role in modern matched as those with more titles than money are making matches for title hungry Americans and European parvenus.

Interesting examples. I hadn't thought of Marie Chantal - good point. But I don't see how Chelsy Davy's wealth would have been a factor. I don't think Prince Harry really has anything to worry about financially. I doubt that money would be as important to the British royal family. Why would the Queen, as Princess Elizabeth, have married a peniless Prince Philip then?

Princess Elizabeth married Prince Phillip because of the family's connections to "their uncle", Lord Louis Mountbatten, formerly Prince Louis of Battenberg, a first cousin to both Queen Mary and Princess Alice of Battenberg, Phillips mother. The match was practically pushed on them but loved supposedly helped a bit. She with him more than vice versa. He was quite suitable though. Being penniless in this case only helped. Today, money denotes at least some degrree of pedigree and I think that's what most of the Royal families are looking for outside their own ilk.
