Would or did you name your child after a royal or a traditional royal name? Personally I thought of naming my future child Diana (not neccessarily after Princess Diana but the goddess, Diana. Also I love the name William (not Harry though or Charles). Except if I was going to name my child William, I think it'd be interesting to give it the middle name of Kanye ;D (Love them both, plus I love those names). I know (Kanye) isn't a royal name, but I really do like it. I'm also the sort of person who would consider giving "Jesus" as a middle name to my child (not first though). I do like the name Phillip but I don't know if I'd do it or not. At this rate, I may have to adopt a child when I'm 40

I did name my daughter after Princess Grace of Monaco. We liked the name Grace but when she was born on November 12th (incidently the birthdate of the late princess) we added Patricia because of the coincidence.
There were other regal names on my list too: Diana, Victoria, Charlotte, Alexandra, Elizabeth.
My son Eric is not named for any specific royal. But his name means 'ruler of rulers'. Had he been a girl I would have liked the name Elizabeth Alexandra.

Dear readers; Maybe you think:'There is that man again with his idle talking. But we named our first son after 3 royals.Because my family couldn't come to our wedding in Indonesia,I asked a befiended royal from Kupang/Timor(the Raja himself)to be my representative at my weddingthings. In Indonesia you need a representative of your family to do the things.A wedding there is a matter between 2 families;not between 2 persons. That royal was H.R.H. Raja(King),or Usif Leopold N. Isu Nisnoni. So we promessed him, that our first born possible future son would at least have the nameLeopold. And so it it.Many Christian royals(f.i.)also name their children after European royals, because they think, that children, who bear such a name as dynastymember must be very powerfull,so when you give your child also that name,aa part of that power also wille child. My wife is direct descendant of the last official locally recognized Sultan of Banjarmasin(Adam Alwatzikubillah-SE Borneo-rule 1825-1857),so we decided to give him as first name Adam;as 3rd name Suriansyah(first Sultan of B.).2nd name is common name. My wife is called Gusti Yulianitha(named after Queen Juliana ofnd)and her sister is Gusti Magaretha(named after Princess Margriet of Holland). But when I wouldn't have married a Indonesian Princess I would of course begin with naming my children after family. I don't know, what name of a royal I would chose. That you never know before.I belive HGod leads you in naming children. But when you would say:"Name a child after a royal you like/admire;I maybe would name him/her after Queen Juliana,or Queen Beatrix(both wonderfull woman"),or Willem(the most common nmaes of kings/ruling Princes of our dynasty and also quite common in the family of my father. Thank you for your attention. Yours sincerelly: D.P. Tick(gRMK) www.royaltimor.com

All of my children have at least one royal name as part of their Christian names, but they're family names as well-so does that count? I've got a Victoria Juliana, Edward, Alexander and Marguerite. Actually Marguerite was supposed to be Sophie Elizabeth but when it was time to fill out the birth cert. I was still pretty medicated, so my husband filled it out and gave her the name he had chosen!

I sure would. If I have another daughter she will be Anastasia Grace and for a son Philip Xavier (I just like "x" for a middle initial).

I think if you like a name that is the name you should name your child I dont think a child should be named after a Royal cause it is what your suppose to do Example Prince Edwards son is named James Was he called James cause they liked the name or cause it is a line of Royal names from the Past

Or maybe he was named after a cousin, the son of Princess Alexandra, James Ogilvy. Who knows? I tend to wonder, with the Danish monarchy, their trend with kings named Frederik or Christian, whether the Crown Prince and Princess really had much of a choice with naming their son Christian. Did they really like the name or is it just adhering to traditino?
