Sorry, I had Edinburgh on the brain... I meant to write:
For William and Kate, my money is still on the Dukedom of Cambridge...

I know you all will think I am crazy after saying this, but I must... I have a feeling that William might just be left without a Dukedom. I believe that William will be made Prince of Wales after his wedding, because the Queen is going to step down in favor of Charles, who will become King. I know it's a stretch, but my third eye tells me this...

Blank, I would agree with you, that in these days titles and dukedoms may appear silly. HRH Prince William of Wales may seem a perfectly adequate title and, yes, he should, in due time, inherit the titles currently held by HRH The Prince Charles.
The however in this is what his future wife should be called. If Prince William isn't granted a dukedom, Kate Middleton will simply become HRH Princess William of Wales, as HRH Princess Michael of Kent became, which, though technically correct, nevertheless sounds silly to many. A dukedom solves the problem.
Having said that, we can only wait until the wedding day...

Also, it has emerged in the Press that HRH Prince William of Wales has no desire to jump into his father's boots ahead of nature [and the Act of Settlement] taking its course.
The Press has been muddying the waters lately, especially after the announcement of the William and Catherine's Engagement, with polls suggesting this, that and the other speculation just to sell newspapers. This is the position of head of state of a sovereign country we are talking about, not the X-Factor or Pop Idol. William is thick-skinned, knows his own mind and how things should be.
