Well, it's happened at last. Pretty predictable really. Can't say I'm too surprised or upset seeing as the King through his miscalculations and shambolic rule largely brought it upon himself. He's already packing his bags, although the Maoists, in a show of generosity are saying he can live on in Nepal as a private citizen. Probably better for him to leave though as who knows what is said today could be changed another day. What a shame his whole Dynasty paid the price for his misrule though.
Looks like the alleged prophecy of him being the last King has come true, although it was probably self-fulfilling. The Maoists after all were determined to make it so at least.
One hopes that the Maoists don't abuse the trust people have put in them and that the new Republic of Nepal does have a good future ahead of them. Time will tell...
In the meantime, it seems the King will head to India to live in exile.
It seems we need another monarchical restoration elsewhere to balance this loss out. Likely candidates? Serbia is one I guess...
So, what are people's thoughts here about this?
