Cloud 9,Paul?
That's an understatement.
I'm really over the moon,as a long-held wish to meet at least 1 member of the Royal Family has finally come true.

You will all be very pleased to know that I had the pleasure of meeting Their Royal Highnesses Prince Charles & Camilla,Duchess of Cornwall in Wellington.
Just before His Royal Highness came near me,I led a small section of the crowd in singing 'Happy Birthday'.
His Royal Highness & I gently shook hands,& I said to him,"Happy Birthday,Your Royal Highness".He replied in his very distinctive voice,"Thank you".
Her Royal Highness came from the other direction.I had my hand out ready to gently shake her hand.
When she & I gently shook hands,I said to her,"Welcome to New Zealand,Your Royal Highness".She then gave me a smile.
His Royal Highness is very tall,& Her Royal Highness is pretty short.
Then the Deputy Mayor of Wellington,Ian Mackinnon saw me.He said,"Good on you,Aidan!".
Yes,I have taken 3 photos with my cellphone camera to prove that I have finally accomplished my long-held wish to meet at least 1 member of the Royal Family.
In due course,I will be writing to Their Royal Highnesses at Clarence House to thank them for their graciousness in meeting me.
Aidan.

It is great to hear that Queen Elizabeth II has decided to accept the invitation of Mary McAleese (the President of Ireland who is also a British subject as well (due to her birth in Belfast,Northern Ireland) & pay a long overdue visit to the Republic of Ireland.
Hopefully, this will strengthen ties between Great Britain,Ireland,& the countries that are proper British Commonwealth countries.
Let's hope that the royal visit to Ireland will be a step towards the Republic of Ireland becoming a proper British Commonwealth country.

If Serbia does restore its monarchy, then it could lead to other countries restoring their monarchies, such as Georgia & Montenegro.

Crown Prince Otto von Hapsburg of Austria-Hungary is very well-known for speaking the majority of languages that were spoken in the old Empire of Austria & the old Kingdom of Hungary.

How many of you are aware that there are traditional monarchies within the Republic of Somaliland?
The Republic of Somaliland covers the same territory as the old British Somaliland Protectorate.
Somaliland seceded from its ill-advised union with Somalia in 1991 to regain its independence.
Although Somaliland has still been unjustly denied recognition as a proper country,it has managed to create its own constitutional system.
In addition to the bicameral Parliament of Somaliland, there is a council of traditional leaders - most of whom have the title of Sultan.

I wonder if other African countries, suich as Nigeria, may follow this lead? The constitutions of some African countries, such as Botswana,The Gambia,Ghana,Nigeria,Sierra Leone,Somaliland,Uganda,& Zambia, actually contain clauses that protects & recognises traditional monarchies. These clauses would be extremely difficult to change without causing offence to the various monarchs & tribes concerned.Any government or politician who would try could find themselves out of office.
