The very last hereditary peers were Harold Macmillan,1st. Earl of Stockton,& William Whitelaw,1st. Viscount Whitelaw.
The Earldom of Stockton still exists, but the title of Viscount Whitelaw became extinct in 1999,as Viscount Whitelaw only had daughters, who were ineligible to inherit,as the letters patent creating the peerage specified that it could only pass through the male line.

Boris, New Zealand's politicians don't care about either the monarchy or the people.
It makes my blood boil when politicians think that they have a right to steal from the people, hold the monarchy hostage,& continue to lie about it.
If I met any member of the Royal Family,I'd treat them with the respect that they are entitled to.

Some countries do not actually have surnames for members of their royal families, which is why they use 'of Belgium','of Liechtenstein',or 'of Japan' instead.

The Queen Mother was not strictly speaking a commoner,as she was from a noble family, considering that her father was a hereditary peer.

The title of Queen's Counsel is going to be restored.
Appointments to the Privy Council of the U.K. will stay discontinued though.

A majority of New Zealanders regarded the abolition of knighthoods & damehoods as being totally dumb.
Most New Zealanders are also totally opposed to the idea of a republic, especially up in my home town of Wanganui, who are very fierce Royalists anyway.

The Zimbabwean Dollar is now no longer in circulation,as it has been replaced by Euros,Pounds Sterling,Pula,& Rand.
I'm still busy adding to my collection though.I picked up a Hong Kong $100 note that was issued by the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation in 1981,a Canadian 1858 10c. coin with a hole in it (scarce coin as a spacefiller),a Nova Scotian 1840 1d.,& a Newfoundland 1911 50c. coin (which is quite scarce & extremely underrated) at a coin fair up in Auckland.
A week before,I picked up 2 Canadian $2 notes dated 1986,which were put into circulation later than that,as they bear 2 different signature combinations. These were replaced in 1996 by the bimetallic $2 coin (or 'Twoonie').

I have found out today that the decision to restore knighthoods & damehoods in New Zealand has been approved by Her Majesty the Queen.
Those that were awarded the non-titular equivilants are going to be offered the opportunity to take up the titles, that is,if they want it.
The Queen's Birthday Honours List will be the first since the New Year's Honours List in 2000 to feature titles.
To be frank,I'm very pleased that titles are coming back, but I am still opposed to the idea of a 'New Zealand Order of Merit' or an 'Order of New Zealand' though.I've always been a fierce advocate of restoring the Imperial Royal Honours System, along with the title 'Queen's Counsel',& the appeal to Her Majesty's Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London (& the abolition of the so-called 'Supreme Court of New Zealand' along with it).
Please let me know what you think.

The highest denomination that Zimbabwe has ever had was $100 Trillion, but it was still worth nothing.Since then, another so-called 'currency reform' has been carried out.The Zimbabwean Dollar is still worth US$0.00 though.

It was pretty common for childless monarchs in India to adopt one of their sibling's children as their heir.As long as the heir was related, they had succession rights to the throne.Even cousins succeeded their predecessors.
In the British Isles, adopted children have never had any claim to the throne or to a peerage title. For example,Jamie Lee Curtis & her husband (who is a hereditary British peer) have got adopted children. Therefore, they have no claim to inherit the peerage.
